Understanding alcohol use disorder as a treatable medical condition

Our Mission

We aim to provide hope and improve quality of life by changing the way alcohol use disorder is understood and treated.

Our Vision

We envision a world where alcohol use disorder is understood and treated as a medical condition and viewed with compassion; where research, practice and policy change continue as a means to provide hope and reduce suffering.

  • We support people impacted by AUD by helping those individuals, families and friends understand AUD and new treatment options, and by providing hope for improved care and recovery.

We engage health practitioners by facilitating the integration of a new understanding of and approach to treating AUD through culture, practice and systems change initiatives.

We contribute to the creation of new knowledge through research projects, and by promoting evidence and policies, which build upon new understandings and approaches to treating AUD.

We empower community leaders and decision-makers to incorporate a more hope-filled understanding of AUD into their personal lives and professional work.
