AUD information posters, updated handouts for patients to take to their provider and more! We continue to add to our clinician resources and to our collection of resources for patients and families.
AUD Care in Emergency Departments
CAUDS is pleased to be collaborating with Interior Health to pilot care improvements for patients presenting with Alcohol Use Disorder at hospital emergency departments. We are currently rolling out in one location with outreach beginning in two more BC communities.
Student Researcher News
CAUDS welcomes back Hayley Ross, a fourth year cognitive science student at McGill University for another term, where she will assist with the implementation of AUD treatments in emergency department pilot projects and much more. Thank you, Hayley!

BCCSU PODCAST We’re thrilled to have been invited to participate in a BCCSU podcast, which is recording in October. Thank you to Dr. Roland Engelbrecht for sharing his insight.
AUD MEDICATION APP We’ve developed an app based on Dr. Jeff Harries’ much-loved AUD Medication Guide. Currently in the testing phase, stay tuned for when this app will go online.
CLINICIAN’S PRESCRIBING VIDEO With filming wrapped up, this set of video modules all about AUD medications, prescribing practices and more, is now being edited, and will form the backbone of online presentations to clinicians across the country. Stay tuned for how to sign up!
Commemorating Truth and Reconciliation Day
With the aim to contribute to healing and reconciliation, we present this video, which talks about how reducing cravings and easing withdrawal symptoms using a new approach to medical treatment options for alcohol use disorder can complement a person’s existing support network including cultural, traditional and community-led healing.
